I’ve noticed that in much of the reporting of the Algerian hostage crisis many journalists refer to the kidnappers as “militants”.
If a bunch of savages had kidnapped and killed my father/uncle/brother/son/cousin/husband/friend when they were going about the own business I wouldn’t call those people “militants”. I’d call the bastards “terrorists”.
Are journalists naturally soft in the head or is it now a condition of their employment?
(At least William Hague had the decency to call them terrorists.)
